Project 5-100 Universities to Receive Government SupportMay 27, 2015
The Russian government has approved the allocation of financial support for 2015 which falls within the guidelines of the federal budget under the directive of “Development of Education,” a program designed to improve the competitive standing of the best Russian universities in the international arena.
The total amount of the funds for 2015 is 10.14 billion rubles. Fourteen universities have been approved as the recipients.
The maximum amount of subsidies (964 mln rubles) will be granted to Tomsk State, Tomsk Polytechnic and St. Petersburg University ITMO.
930 mln rubles have been appropriated for Higher School of Economics. 761 mln rubles each will be allocated to MEPhI, MISiS, MIPT, Novosibirsk State University, St. Petersburg Peter the Great Polytechnic University, and Ural Federal University. Lobachevski State University of Nizhny Novgorod will receive 482 mln rubles. Samara State Aerospace University has been granted 467 mln rubles, Far Eastern Federal University – 425 mln rubles and Kazan Federal University – 378 mln rubles.
