South Ural State University students organized a flash mob to support the ProjectDecember 18, 2015
The students of South Ural State University chose to celebrate the fact that their alma mater is now a member of the Russian Academic Excellence Project in a decidedly inspired manner. Venturing out amid the cold and the snow into the square before the main building of the university, the celebrants ingeniously arranged themselves into the shape of the logo of the Project, holding up red and blue Project 5-100 flags. Despite the adverse weather, more than 150 people took part in the flash mob – active students from all departments and schools of the university, employees of the Rector’s office, and heads of extracurricular projects and union representatives.
According to the organizers, the students wanted to show their support for their university. “I love being part of a big team and I really felt it here. I felt that we were many and that together we are a force. I’m proud of my University”, said one of the participants in the flash mob in an interview to the University channel. Photographers from the school of photography at the University took pictures of the flash mob from the viewing platform of the main university building. The organizers of the flash mob hope that their unusual initiative will be supported by other leading Russian universities. And, perhaps, that such support will find similar creative expression!
