From 29 February until 3 March this year, Project 5-100 universities represented Russia at the 11th Annual Expo and Conference of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) in Melbourne.
On 2 March, Russian experts spoke at a session devoted to cooperation among scientists from different countries. Mr. Alexei Falaleev (Head of Expert Support at Project Office 5-100) commented on the impact of Project 5-100 on international strategic cooperation. On the same day, a representative of NUST MISiS Mr. Timothy Schmidt spoke at a joint BRICS session.
This year Melbourne welcomed education specialists from Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, the USA, Germany, France, Canada, Singapore, and many other countries who had come there to discuss what cooperation models in research and education will be relevant in the coming decade. More than 1600 delegates from 47 countries took part in the APAIE-2016.
Events such as this enable Project 5-100 universities to liaison and build constructive relationships with the world’s best universities. In 2016, Project participants, as was the case last year, will serve as the ambassadors of Russian higher education at the most important events in education – NAFSA, EAIE and so on.
