Project 5-100 named the media event of the year

On 25 November the “Best in Russia” award winners were announced in the Moscow’s Gostiny Dvor. The Russian Academic Excellence Project (Project 5-100) of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation came out a winner after being nominated for “Event of the year” (Education segment).

This was the inaugural occasion of the award ceremony, but its founder – the news portal – is planning to make it an annual event.

The organizers of “Best in Russia/” say that their main goals are to draw attention to companies and individuals who have done the most outstanding things while serving social, political and government interests of Russia, creating a symbol of leadership, offering encouragement for expanding international contacts, and building a positive image for Russia.

Project 5-100 and its participants – the country’s leading universities – answer these criteria in full.

The achievement of the Project in 2014 was recognized both by the general public and by specialists: winners were selected in a direct online voting format based on the information provided by “Medialogy”; at the final stage of the selection ordinary internet users were joined by the members of the Expert Council comprised of public figures, politicians, businessmen, athletes, artists and actors.

Those contestants who tallied t the most overall votes were named winners.

Companies, events and individuals recognized by this award really represent the elite of our country. Some of the “Best in Russia” include the Sochi Winter Olympics, OJSC Sberbank of Russia for its project “Selection of an insurer for pension savings”, the information agency Interfax, Zenith Football Club, the State Kremlin Palace, the company MegaFon and others. The award was also given to several individuals most loved by the media: the director Andrei Konchalovsky, the figure skater Adelina Sotnikova and the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyev.

The ceremony was attended by famous Russian politicians, public figures, businessmen, athletes and artists.

The fact that the activity of Project 5-100 was deemed to be one of the most important events of the year in the sphere of education is a joint success of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the university-participants in the Project and the Project Office.
