Olga Golodets announced plans to extend Project 5-100 beyond 2020January 26, 2017
In a panel discussion held on the Student Day, January 25th, Olga Golodets, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, announced that Project 5-100 should be prolonged after 2020 and stressed that it should become the driving force behind the whole education system in Russia.
“It’s critical that Project 5-100 shows at many levels, not just that of officials, heads of universities or lecturers who evaluate the results. Importantly, students appreciate that they study at universities that are noticed and internationally prominent. Naturally, this program needs development, and we will make every effort to continue it beyond 2020 and include as many universities as possible. Education today has no limits with regard to content or information collection, and it’s crucial that we maintain it at this competitive level. Project 5-100 matters for all universities, not only its participants. It should become the driving force for the whole education system,” said Olga Golodets.
By order of the Russian Government dated December 7, 2016, Olga Golodets joined the Council on Competitiveness Enhancement of Leading Russian Universities among Global Research and Education Centres as its Chairwoman. Olga Vasilyeva, Minister for Education and Science, also joined the Council as Deputy Chairwoman.
