The Road to University Excellence – QS WORLDWIDE and XXIII seminar-conference of Project 5-100May 14, 2018
QS WORLDWIDE will take place in Moscow, 22-23d May, 2018. This year an international higher education conference will be hosted and co-organized by RUDN University in partnership with Project 5-100.
As a community of practice linking Russia and the emerging countries’ higher education to the world, the conference moves to different geographical locations within Eurasia. Having first been organised in Nizhny Novgorod, this year the conference will be held in the Russian capital Moscow.
The theme of the event is “In Search of University Excellence: Perspectives from Russia and Central Asia”. The forum is aimed at providing higher education professionals with the opportunity to get insights on how universities in countries outside of the Western hemisphere have been working towards achieving academic excellence through the implementation of government-run initiatives. It promotes the advancement of higher education in Russia and the emerging countries through international partnerships and streamlines the processes that lead to greater worldwide recognition of universities in Russia and the emerging countries.
The program of a two-day conference includes the following main tracks: strategies for university excellence: rankings and beyond, building a global university brand, cross-border academic collaboration and faculty internationalization.
Andrei Volkov, deputy chairman of Russian Academic Excellence Project Council, and member of Russian Academic Excellence Project Council, executive president of the Chinese society for education development strategies Weifang Min will make presentations.
On May 24, RUDN will play host to the seminar-conference of Project 5-100 which will convene to discuss the progress made by the universities participating in the academic excellence program.
The seminar-conference will feature a packed agenda of panels, performances and keynotes:
“Project 5-100 experience and recommendations for universities starting to enhance their competitiveness”, “University, business and power: best practices, models and prospects for collaboration”, “International standards and tools to improve the quality of content and promote the scientific magazines into global information community”, HR practices, scientometrics, university publication activity and international student recruitment from Russian and international educators, senior academic administrators and government officials from across Russia and beyond.
This event will bring together Russia’s and international education policy-makers, experts and practitioners to learn about new developments in the education area, promote professional development, enhance professional skills and increase staff qualification, spread the best practices and results of Project 5-100 universities among other Russian universities, and assist in university partnership development. THE and QS, Russian and international educational experts in diverse fields, and universities will share their views and experience to explore seminar’s participants passions and tailor their academic and career paths.
RUDN team also provides the university and campus walking tours for the seminar’s participants.
