Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology is one of the leading universities in Russia. For the past five years MIPT has improved its positions in the top world university rankings, including Times Higher Education, QS and ARWU. Times Higher Education rankings names MIPT among 300 university worldwide. It is also consistently present in the TOP-3 national rankings. One of the key achievements for MIPT in recent years is entering global subject rankings in natural science, physics, astronomy and mathematics, computers science – our major fields of study.

MIPT was founded by Nobel Prize winners Pyotr Kapitsa, Nikolay Semenov and Lev Landau in 1946. In its 71-year history, MIPT has trained over 36,000 high-level specialists in various fields of science, technology and business. MIPT’s education principles, based on Pyotr Kapitsa’s Phystech System are:
